A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Scottish Borders.

This alert is for river and surface water flooding.

Heavy rain is forecast to affect the area on Friday and overnight into Saturday. There is a risk of significant flooding from rivers and surface water. Potential impacts include flooding of roads, properties, and parts of communities and disruption to travel and infrastructure. The greatest risk is in the west of the area.
