A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Scottish Borders.
This Flood Alert is for river and surface water flood risk.Spells of persistent rain are expected to affect this area on Thursday and Friday, particularly in the west of the area. This will be accompanied by strong south easterly winds. Rivers in the area will respond to this and are likely to peak on Thursday, remaining high through into Friday. Flooding to low-lying land and roads is expected to cause some disruption and flooding to low-lying properties or parts of communities is possible.
SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here as the situation develops.
