A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Wester Ross. 


48 hours of persistent rainfall is expected across northwest Scotland from Saturday evening. The rainfall totals over this period will be exceptionally high and rivers and small burns in the area are expected to rise. Flooding is possible from Saturday night, but is more likely later on Sunday and into Monday. Impacts may include flooding to parts of communities and disruption to travel and infrastructure.

Localised flooding of low lying land and roads from surface water is also possible during the periods of heaviest rainfall.
